To celebrate the launch of our brand new flagship store, we’re taking a look back at our beautiful Bijoux Brides who bought their gown from our Cadzow Street store over the years.

Sherrie and Ally share their love story with us below…

Bijoux Bridal: Where did you and Ally meet?

Sherrie: We met online – 8 years ago now. This was before Tinder was even a thing!

BB: Tell us about the engagement Sherrie! How did it happen?

S: Ally planned a Christmas trip to Lapland in 2014 which was weird as he was never particularly into Christmas. To my surprise Ally popped the question in the snow!

BB: So when it came to picking your dream dress, what was your experience and how did you decide on “the one”?

S: Finding the dress was a marathon! I had a design in mind and knew I wanted to add colour to my dress. I took an entourage of ten people along with me to three different bridal shops in one day. Then went to another two shops after that.

I narrowed down designers and styles and then I saw a Facebook ad for Bijoux Bridal, remembering they were a stockist for a designer I liked. When I went to their website I saw lots of options that I wanted to try on. However, there was one dress in particular that ticked all of the boxes.

When I tried it on, I knew I still had some things I wanted to do with it to really make it mine but it was exactly what I was looking for.

Once I had the coloured fabric added in, the final touch was a dose of bravery while my sister and my mum used fabric spray paint to create the magical blue ombré I had always wanted.

BB:  So you had the perfect engagement, you’ve found your dream dress… but what about your wedding?! What did you love most about your day?

S:  We got married on a wild and windy day at the Cruin on Lomond. By the end of the day my dress was bogging, full of leaves and twigs and my hair was a mess. It didn’t matter though because the wind made for some excellent photos. We had the absolute best day. I wish I could do it all again!

BB: If you could recommend Bijoux to another bride, what would you say?

S: They have an excellent range of dresses and styles that you don’t see elsewhere, particularly for plus size brides too. The girls were all really friendly and I had a great time in the shop!
