To celebrate the launch of our brand new flagship store, we’re taking a look back at our beautiful Bijoux Brides who bought their gown from our Cadzow Street store over the years.

Lynn and Chris share their love story with us below…

Bijoux Bridal: Where did you and Chris meet?

Lynn: Our love story began long before we became a couple. I fancied him at school but being three years younger than him, he didn’t look twice at me!

Years later I was invited to his 30th birthday party. It was the first time I had seen him in many years and I was shocked to find I fancied him more than I did at school. Although I was gutted to find out that he had a girlfriend at the time.

A few weeks later I found out that they had split up and he then added me on Facebook. We spent about six months shamelessly flirting and talking to each other.

Steff, his brother, had warned me though that he was a bit of a “player” and that I should be careful. I wanted to listen to him at the time as I knew he had my best interest at heart but I couldn’t peel myself away from Chris. His laughter was infectious and I had butterflies every time I heard from him. I decided in the end, that I would go with my gut and we went on our first date in January.

BB: Tell us about the engagement Lynn! How did it happen?

L: The next eleven months were amazing and during our first Christmas together, he asked me to marry him.

Chris had asked my Dad’s permission and he said he knew it was ridiculously soon but I had made him happier than he’s ever been. He knew he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me.

On Christmas Day, he gave me a Christmas card and when I opened it, it said: “to my fiancée”. When I looked at him, he was down on one knee with the most beautiful ring.

It was really quick, but I knew it was the right thing to do and said yes straight away.

My decision was cemented, when on the night of our engagement dinner, we were in a very serious car accident. That was the realisation of how much I loved him. I knew I never wanted to be without him

He was my hero that night. His injuries were so much worse than mine but all he cared about was my safety.

BB: So when it came to picking your dream dress, what was your experience and how did you decide on “the one”?

L: One of my favourite things about planning for the wedding was shopping for my dress. I saw my dress in the window when I was driving home from work and fell in love with it immediately. I phoned my mum and told her about it. The wedding wasn’t for another two and half years but my mum told me to try it on anyway.

When I tried it on in-store, I knew it was my dress straight away. I have never felt more beautiful than I did on our wedding day. I wish I could wear it every day. To this day, I still haven’t seen a dress that I like more than it. Everyone said that it was “very me”. I couldn’t have chosen better.

BB: If you could recommend Bijoux to another bride, what would you say?

L: I’ve already recommended three brides to you and two found their dresses! All I said to them was the truth. The dresses you have are amazing and the service is second to none. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience for my dress and I would highly recommend brides to book in.
